Tuesday, November 26
Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
You are invited to the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service hosted by the Glenview Clergy Association, Tuesday, November 26 at 7:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2328 Central Road in Glenview. This year’s keynote speaker will be the Rev. Chris Neptun, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Thursday, November 28
Thanksgiving Day Family Festival Service
Our Thanksgiving Family Festival Service will take place on Thursday, November 28 at 11:00 am in the Auditorium. The service will include a fruit or non-perishable food item offering that will be donated to the Northfield Township Food Pantry.
Sunday, December 1
One Combined Service in the Church Sanctuary
There will be one combined traditional worship service at 9:30 am on Sunday, December 1 in the Sanctuary. (No Sunday School)
‘Deck the Halls’ following the service
Following the 9:30 am service on December 1st please join us to ‘Deck the Halls’! We’ll have plenty to do from hanging wreaths and greenery, to decorating the Christmas tree, and we’d love your help. Decorating will begin after the service. I hope to see you then! (Erika Horigan)
Wednesday, December 4
Theta Alpha Guild Christmas Class
A wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season is by attending the Theta Alpha Guild Christmas Class. The program includes a talk from one of our ministers and discussion followed by refreshments. This year’s class will happen on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 pm in the Lake Lounge. All are welcome. If you need a ride to the class, please contact Sue Lee at 847-724-5515. Theta Alpha Guild is our women’s organization that supports a number of valuable uses for our congregation. (Sue Lee)
Saturday, December 7
“Christmas in the Park”
This is a service opportunity for our church. It will be a Christmas party on our campus for 160 clients of the Northfield Township Food Pantry. Please contact me if you’re willing to help out. (Mark Pendleton)
Sunday, December 8
Carols Sunday
On Sunday, December 8 there will be two services of worship as usual. Both will have shortened messages with an emphasis on Christmas songs. Our 9:30 service will be a “family” service (no Sunday school) so that children have a chance to enjoy all of the singing.
Sunday, December 15
11:00 am Christmas Holy Supper Service
Our Christmas Communion/Holy Supper service will happen on Sunday, December 15 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. It is one of two “full length” Communion services that we hold each year, the other being on Good Friday. This service has an appropriately shortened message for adults. (no Sunday School)
4:30 pm Christmas Tableaux
Bring your entire family to our annual Christmas Pageant and experience the wonder and peace of the season. This stage show includes still-life scenes, Christmas story readings, and singing of some of your favorite Christmas carols. It’s a beautiful event for the whole family. Gifts from the church will be given to all children in attendance, newborn through eighth grade.
Wednesday, December 18
Arcana Christmas Class and Luncheon
Each year the pastor and his wife host a Christmas class and potluck lunch in their home for members of the “Arcana Class.” “Arcana Class” is a class for adults that meets once a week to survey the books of the theology of the New Church. This year’s Christmas class and lunch will happen on Wednesday, December 18, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, December 20
Glenview New Church School Christmas Program
Please come to the school Christmas Show on Friday, December 20 at 10:00 am in the Auditorium. This year, it will be a lovely mix of music, poems, and other Christmas-related entertainment put on by the students and teachers at GNCS. The program will be followed by refreshments. (Auditorium)

One Combined Service in the Church Sanctuary – 9:30 am
The Christmas Story There will be one combined traditional worship service at 9:30 am on Sunday, December 22 in the Sanctuary. The service will feature singing, music of the season, and a reading of the entire Christmas story in three parts. All ages are welcome. (no Sunday School)
Tuesday, December 24
Christmas Eve Family Worship– 5:00 pm
Bring your family to our annual Christmas Eve Worship Service which features songs of Christmas, a Christmas choir, and a message for the whole family. (Auditorium)
Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship – 10:00 pm
Wind down on Christmas Eve at this quiet devotional service, which features Christmas music, readings from the Christmas story, prayer, and a candle-lighting ceremony. (Church Sanctuary)
Wednesday, December 25
Christmas Day Worship – 11:30 am
This is a worship service for adults on Christmas morning which includes a full Christmas sermon. It’s a delightful way to celebrate our Lord’s birth into the world. (Church Sanctuary)
